I’m having a hard time researching them. Maybe I just suck? Does anyone have one, and from what company/for which car (mileage please)? I just tried to get a quote from the #1 google result - Maserati wasn’t even listed...
edit: I do have “sane” options on my list; E9X M3, V8 S5. But those would be nice with a warranty too.

“Maserati wasn’t even listed...”
there is probably a very good reason for that

hahah yeah I thought of that too. But hey, Carmax has shelled out thousands more than the warranty for Demuro’s LR!

My response to him: that I wasn’t surprised because of this one time Tavarish and Orlove ETC. jumped into a front page bashing thread and tore us all apart haha. We thought we were safe...

Extended warranties on cars are basically like gambling, the house always wins.
For example, if the warranty company estimates that they need to pay out $100k for every 100 cars, they’ll need to collect $1k per car, plus their admin costs, plus profit, plus dealer profit if you buy from a dealer.
So, by the time you add it up, you’re paying $2k for something that the bean counters estimate will cost an average of $1k in repairs over its lifetime.
Yes, sometimes you’ll “get lucky” and get a warranty company to pay for a $3k repair. The odds are not in your favor though. Buy a good vehicle in the first place, properly maintain it, and put the $$$ you would have spent on a warranty in the bank. You’ll end up ahead almost every time.

It seems like that’s the general consensus, especially with less ridiculous choices like high performance German stuff

When I bought my Jeep in 01 at a Volvo dealer, they offered a extended warranty.
5 years or 100'oo0 miles which ever was first.
I had an alternator replaced, starter , and had them re gear my Schulte

I deal with all kinds of aftermarket warranty companies, and almost none will underwrite any M BMW, AMG Mercedes, or S Audi, or anything with a V10 or V12 anymore. The E60 M5, Mercedes S(L)65, and B6-7 S4 & V10 S6 ruined that party for everyone. If you have a car they will underwrite, you have to play their game. I’m pretty good at it, but it fucking sucks. I have one refusing to put anything but a NAPA starter in a 2013 BMW X5 right now, despite the fact that I can do $200 under dealer list for a factory Valeo unit. I hate it so, so much. On the other hand, if you can get a good one (Western General was good, for example), it pays for itself. Message me on Monday when I’m back at work and I can help more.

Hmmmm it’s starting to sound like having an extra 5K around is the the thing to do. S6 V10 is also on my list hahah...
I will definitely hit you up via this thread later on if I have any questions, thx!

It seems like the general consensus is that warranties on fun cars are impossible, better to just have an extra 5K around
